Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name, a case number, or a date into a search box on this site, that text goes directly to the outside provider that performs the search. The provider processes the request and returns the results. We do not keep or log what you typed.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send an email to this site, we keep the message so that we can answer it. It stays with our team. We do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires that step.
Data We Gather Automatically
Technical details arrive with every page request, and our servers record some of them:
- The IP address your device used
- The browser you were running and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The site that referred you here, when there was one
- Timestamps for the page views
Cookies and Analytics
This site sets cookies, which are small files a browser stores on your device. They tell us which pages draw traffic and where readers tend to leave. Analytics services help combine that traffic data into reports. You can block cookies through your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may respond differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping pages loading quickly and running without errors
- Routing each search request to the right partner service
- Learning which sections readers use and which need improvement
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
- Serving advertising that may match a visitor's interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. What we publish is general guidance about where Plaquemines Parish records are held, and how a reader reaches the sheriff's records division, the 25th Judicial District Court, the clerk, or a ward justice of the peace. Louisiana's Public Records Law, R.S. 44:1 and following, governs access to records held by public bodies; this site is not a public body and holds nothing that law covers.
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes on this site. Anything you type into those tools is handled under the partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those companies decide their own retention periods and sharing practices, and we have no control over them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
Pages here link to sheriff's office sites, court portals, clerk pages, legal aid resources, and third-party search tools. Following any of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's own privacy policy takes over at that point. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across websites so they can target ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not on ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information can reach a few categories of recipients:
- Search partners that handle a query you start here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place the ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary security practices to protect what we collect. No internet service can promise absolute safety, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never happen. We do what we reasonably can to keep visitor information secure and to correct any problem quickly.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent data to us, let us know and we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights over personal data depend on where you live, and Louisiana has no single comprehensive consumer privacy statute. Access to government records in this state is set by the Public Records Law, R.S. 44:31, which applies to public bodies rather than to a private reference site like this one. Even so, you can always:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Have incorrect information corrected
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site develops. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to follow how visitor information is handled.
